Porn, sexting, LGBT+ issues: a father-of-two quizzes Outspoken Sex Ed

It’s rare for a man to base his public persona on being a dad. So it was interesting to hear what John Adams – the stay-at-home father-of-two behind the award-winning Dad Blog UK, which focuses on parenting, family and lifestyle – had to say as the token man in the all-women Chore Wars panel discussion at the 2016 WOW (Women Of The World) festival. The next year I noticed him at the BAM (Being A Man) festival talking about men in the media.

So when he contacted us I was curious to know what questions he’d ask – partly because it’s also rare, unfortunately, for fathers to be involved in their children’s sex education.

Here’s what happened when Dad Blog UK met Outspoken Sex Ed…

DAD BLOG UK Many parents get anxious about talking to their children about sex, intimate relationships and issues like periods. How do you advise putting parents at ease?

OUTSPOKEN Often parents don’t have the language, skills, knowledge or confidence to talk openly about sex and relationships. No wonder – usually our parents didn’t talk openly with us and/or we didn’t have good sex ed.
